How Points Are Scored

It’s basically a ‘total riders plus one’ scoring system, so 1st place is the total number of finishers, plus one, so with 5 finishers, totals would look like this:

1st – 6pts, 2nd – 4pts, 3rd – 3pts, 4th – 2pts, 5th – 1pt

If there are 10 finishers, then results would be:

1st – 11pts, 2nd – 9pts, 3rd – 8pts, 4th – 7pts, etc..

Reasoning: number of racers can vary each night, so results are based on competition, and finishing higher always rewards with more points, rather than other fixed-scoring systems which often just reward those who win, or finish in a top place regularly.
