PISE and GVVA Pleased to announce two $500 Bursary awards at TrackFest 2

THE PACIFIC INSTITUTE FOR SPORT EXCELLENCE (PISE) IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE GREATER VICTORIA VELODROME ASSOCIATION (GVVA) ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THAT TWO $500.00 CHRIS CONSIDINE BURSARIES WILL BE AWARDED AT TRACKFEST 2 (A COMMONWEALTH GAMES LEGACY EVENT) TO RECOGNIZE THE RECENT TRACK CYCLING ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF TWO YOUNG GVVA TRACK CYCLING ATHLETES (ONE MALE AND ONE FEMALE).

Criteria for these bursaries are as follows:

  1. Member of the GVVA during the 2012 and 2013 track cycling seasons.
  2. Under 23 years of age during the 2012 and 2013 track cycling seasons.
  3. Success at BC Provincial and/or National track cycling championships in 2012 and 2013.

Interested applicants should submit a written letter of application to the GVVA via e-mail on or before June 30, 2014 to larry.a.reynolds@gmail.com. (Questions relating to bursary applications may also be sent to this address).

The letter of application should include the applicant’s name, contact information, and outline how they meet the bursary criteria (above). With respect to Criteria #3 applicants are encouraged to include their track cycling race record for the 2012 and 2013 track cycling seasons. Applications will be considered by a GVVA panel and successful applicants must be in attendance at Track Fest 2 (August 22-24, 2014) to receive their bursary.
